Kickin’ Wing Sauce

wings 2

Straight from The Kicker himself…This Wing Sauce is one Greg has come up with over the years.  With the Super Bowl coming up (if the weather behaves) I figured now would be a great time to give this to you.  Being married to a football player, we have certainly had our share of Super Bowl Parties over the years and wings are good for other party occasions too.  Sometimes we do Wednesday Wing Night (typically when we are in 20 feet of snow in Ouray, Colorado).  And if you want a tasty variation, melt some crumbles of blue cheese right in with it!  We got that idea from The Ouray Brewery, who makes awesome wings.  I don’t know their exact recipe but that is our knock off version. Serve it alongside any cooked wings or drizzle some on a chicken sandwich…Sometimes we grill wings and sometimes we bake them and sometimes we deep fry them, but this sauce is so good to dip them in.  Have a great Party!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Bottle of Franks Red Hot Original Hot Sauce (the smaller regular size)
  • 1 Cup of White Distilled Vinegar
  • 1 Cup Butter
  • 1 Tbsp. Garlic Powder

Directions:

In a pot on the stove, heat all the ingredients on medium heat. (Greg says it gets hotter (flavor wise) if you boil it, so he suggests once all the ingredients get simmerin’ just reduce it to low heat) Easy!
